This is a capital charge and so it is necessary

that you seven gentlemen should be unanimous. I sincerely

hope that unanimity won't prove too difficult but after I

have asked Counsel whether there are any points that I have

not sufficiently stressed I am going to ask you to consider

your verdict.

Of course you are at liberty to retire if

you desire to do so.

The Chief Justice: Is there any point I have not put to the

Jury which you think I ahwald have Mr. Chen ?

Mr. Chen referred to a case where it made no difference

whether one blow had been struck or fifteen blows had been

struck, and discussion ensued whereupon the Chief Justice

informed Mr. Chen that he had his remedy in another place

if he was not satisfied with his summing up.

Mr. Frentis:

No point, thank you My Lord.

Verdict: GUILTY OF MURDER

-

Unanimously.
